Rev. Ray King was the minister at Vale Royal from 1997 untill 2002.   Ray is originally from York and before he became a Methodist Minister he was a school teacher. He trained and was ordained for the Ministry in the USA.   before coming to Tunbridge Wells, his ministry was in Ohio.   Ray is married to Sheila and they have two teenage children.

Ray is also responsible for St Johns Methodist Church at Southborough as well as the Chapel at Wadhurst. This is not unusual for Methodist Ministers.   They often have the care of several Churches in the circuit.
