Circuit Players

We have just started rehearsing a new play, " ; Bonaventure " by Charlotte Hastings.  Set in the 1950s, the action takes place in a Norfolk Convent of a Nursing Order at a time when local flooding makes villagers homeless and cuts travelers off from their destinations.  The play is about one such traveler who seeks shelter in the Convent.

We are hoping to perform this play in March 2001 at Vale Royal and St John's, but we should also like to be able to visit more of the Churches in our Circuit and have tailored our production needs with this in mind, by relying on the existing setting rather than scenery and using significant props and minimum lighting which we can bring ourselves.

Here's another item of news, which may be of general interest. Circuit Players now has quite an extensive Drama Cupboard which is based at Vale Royal Church.  We would be happy to lend costumes for other productions or for fancy dress occasions for a small contribution towards our funds.  Please contact Margaret Richards.

Is there anyone reading this who would like to be part of the Circuit Players team?  We would welcome you!  There are roles for everyone whether on stage, backstage, front of house or looking after some other support area.  For instance, could you take one or more costumes and check them for mending and cleaning, or are you a whizz kid on the computer and could help us with tickets and advertising?  We look forward to hearing from you!
